Drupal 7 migration
D7 → 10/11 rebuild — highest-intent path for most EOL sites.
Move from an end-of-life Drupal 6, 7, 8, or 9 to a supported Drupal 10 or 11 — with your modules, theme, and content audited first, and a fixed-price plan before any work starts.
How I migrate
Drupal migrations fail when they're rushed. I map every module to its Drupal 10/11 equivalent, plan content migration carefully, and validate on a staging environment before go-live.

LTS / bridge cover — not a permanent substitute for migration.
Ancient D6 sites — migrate or archive with a clear plan.
In depth
A migration is not a button click — it is a rebuild on modern Drupal with your content and configuration carried across deliberately. The Migrate API moves nodes, users, taxonomy, and media; contributed modules are replaced with Drupal 10/11 equivalents; your theme is rebuilt in Twig because PHPTemplate and older patterns do not carry forward.
The most common failure mode is discovering incompatible custom code halfway through the project. That is why the first deliverable is always an audit: every enabled module, every custom hook, every integration endpoint, and every content type mapped to its destination.
Staging is non-negotiable. Changes are applied on a copy of production, reviewed by your team, and only then promoted. URL aliases and redirects are validated so organic search traffic and inbound links survive the move — see our notes on Drupal 7 EOL planning if you are starting from end-of-life core.
Use the path cards above when your situation is clear. Still unsure whether you need a version upgrade, a CMS replatform, or interim hardening? The free assessment sorts that without a pre-sold package — you get a written recommendation and a fixed-price option for the work that actually fits.
Questions
Yes. Drupal 7 can be migrated straight to Drupal 10 or 11 using the Migrate API — there's no need to step through Drupal 8 or 9. Content and configuration are moved, modules are mapped to modern equivalents, and the theme is rebuilt in Twig. See Drupal 7 end of life.
It depends on the number of content types, modules and custom features. A small brochure site can take a couple of weeks; a large multi-module site takes longer. A free assessment establishes the scope before any fixed-price quote.
No. Content and URL structure are migrated deliberately, with redirects for any changed paths, so search rankings and inbound links are preserved.
